Brown and Company: You can only pull up 30 or 60 days of tranactions. I forget which.

Accutrade: I went in and pulled up the whole year, printed it and turned it over to my accountant......He does the figuring.......cost me approx. $600. But worth it. Last year he had a problem trying to find my sells on options because they expired worthless! Duh! Not happening anymore.....(these were the stocks I fell in love with, I was winging on a hope and a prayer) Learned a lot last year. :-).

Explained that to him this year.......Don't think it will happen again.

Hi Jill: Still working on taxes? Geez, I hate paying taxes. Just about have all my stuff ready.

I keep extensive records and categorize things ongoing through the year. Have various spreadsheets on investments, transactions, business stuff, write offs, etc. which conform with my CPA's forms. All I have to do is print them out at year end and that part is ready to go since I keep them on a running basis through the year. My CPA loves it of course.

I'm a nut about organization and administrative control. Goes back to my statistics/engineering background I guess. I've kept a running ledger since I was in college 30 years ago such that right now I could look up a check I wrote back in 1970, for example, and put my fingers on that check in minutes. I could tell you what my electric bill was 8 years ago this month in probably less than 30 seconds by going to that ledger. Yep, I square root things.

I recall back in my "vienna sausage" budget days, that keeping up with such detailed records on expenses, cash flow, etc. was essential to managing money and controlling debt. Keeping those records and watching things so closely helped me find ways to save money, and alert me when we were over budget, so to speak, and then we'd eat viennas for awhile! Ha!

Still use that discipline today.

Good luck in getting all that stuff finalized.

Guess everyone is anxious to see Greenie cut next week. My view, don't count on it.

Hope u have a good weekend. Nasty weather here. 2 inch hail, 95 mph wind, and tornados just 120 miles west of me and coming this way the TV just said.
