Hi George,

What about photovoltaics? What about clouds? Basically, the issue with solar power is that you still need a battery rack in order to store the power, and this aspect takes up a lot of real estate.

Then you need to figure out a switching system if you are going to tie into the grid, and this can be amazingly fiddly to try to get right, as well as darned expensive.

So, I do like the idea of using solar energy, but I see simple applications like heating water to be a whole lot more feasible than either tying back into the grid or to provisioning high nines of reliable power to electronic loads, which fit rather nicely, IMO with the constant output of a fuel cell, but really aren't sympatico with either solar or wind power because of vagaries of voltage sag, etc.
