you may have read my follow up post to pw in which i told her i was able to right-click the desk top and choose 'refresh' from the menu Mark Yes I read it and was reminded of it later yesterday evening while reading this article from WinMag. Wrong or Missing Icons on Desktop Sometimes Windows seems to get confused and uses the wrong icons for some files. The problem is usually due to a corrupt ShellIconCache file.
