I was ready to go out and buy Windows 2000 yesterday afternoon. One store I called said the upgrade was only 69.95. I said, wow, great deal I'll be over. Then I went to their web site becasue that seemed too low for a NT replacement OS. It was over 300 Canadian.

Called another store and talked to the tech, he said the upgrade was 190.00 but said on my P2 450, it would not be as quick as it is now with Win98, which I figured.

So, I will wait for my new Dell P4, ONCE we have the combo CDRW/DVD drive in Canada.

You guys are lucky in the USA. With dell.com vs dell.ca you have a lot more options on your systems than we do in Canada.

Win98 on my system is fairly stable in my current configuration, and I don't want to spend 190.00 bucks when I can get Windows 2000 from Dell for a better deal than that. The less money MS makes of me the better.
