...I don't know (much) about the spreadsheets of european Telcoms, but I find it ridiculous they´re all counting on my cash flow for the bandwidth I never asked for. Im still trying to squeeze the best out of my promised 56kB bandwidth here in Germany (call me middle class) and I'm experiencing molasse speeds which have nothing to do with what Im paying for: they're all due to bottlenecks somewhere else.

Now five or six Dodos were ready here in Germany, (for instance Deutsche Telekom, KPN, Mobilcom, twas about 6 mo ago) to pay altogether something in excess of 100 BDM (make it 50 BUS$) for the right to send me within next three years (takes some time too, to build everything up) boilerplate mail on "how great digital TV via UMTS" etc will be - have not received any, but am looking forward to it. Imagine the negative boost to all men suffering from eiaculatio praecox, when the billing kicks in (serves them right, no UMTS porno for me)

It is very much the same as in twenties I guess, with rail IPOs offering 5-year discount fares from Nowhere-Here to Nowhere-there.

I still think I need 56kB AND UMTS - Im in image-analysis business, so letting customers send images looking better that jpg would be fun -, but borrowing 100BDM for the chance to get in is stretching it rather thin.
