"Is this your first business cycle?" Ya, stocks always fall 95% off their highs in normal business cycles. These are just high-beta stocks getting ready for their next big up-leg. Go AMZN! Its only the business cycle that has gone wrong. Without you Bill, some of us would think there was something else going on -- but nope, its just the business cycle.

let me say this: take someone like LG. brilliant technically, very focused. he puts just about everything in context. and for that reason i consider him to be just about the best poster i've run into on si imo. of course we all can't be LG (i am certainly not.) but for me your context has laxed. and it's something i've tried to provide to the best of my ability over time. of course context didn't matter in 98 and 99. but it's mattered for quite a while now....)

Disclaimer: so the logical question is why do i even bother with this thread? the answer is that i have grown to like these folks. and even tho i have the utmost respect for LG, i don't trade on indexes, which he does, and therefore his great thread is of great use but has its limits for me personally. this thread is my home.
