The event, which is one of the largest networking opportunities in the Los Angeles area, is designed to facilitate the exchange of information and the development of strategic alliances, joint ventures and cooperative progress between American and Japanese companies. The event opens with three keynote speakers from leading companies in the wireless and broadband technology and content areas: Masaki Yoshikawa, President and CEO of NTT DoCoMo, USA, Inc.; Dr. Nambi Seshadri, Technical Director of Communication System and R&D of Broadcom Corp.; and Anil Kripalani, Senior Vice President of Global Technology Marketing of Qualcomm Inc. During the first session, the speakers will address the topic of ``Wireless/Broadband Technology & Content,'' where cutting-edge companies from Japan and the United States will make presentations to an audience of potential business partners, investors, customers, strategic partners and resource providers. In Session 2, Shuro Karashima, Senior Managing Director of the Japan Industrial Location Center, will introduce opportunities in Japan in the wireless age to U.S. high-tech companies. In addition, four panelists will discuss how Japanese venture capitalists invest their funds and establish strategic partnerships in the United States. JETRO is a nonprofit quasi-government agency of Japan dedicated to assisting U.S. companies in navigating the Japanese market.
