Ally,

Also found that apparently the maximum the board can take is 8 gig drive, unless I purchase Disk Manager ($60).

No chance that a bios update might kick up the board's capacity to handle a larger hard drive?

Maybe an email to Asus support that CheekyKid provided?

asus.com

Anybody on the thread have a clue?

Aly,

Some of the HD's, if not all come with their own Disk Manager which allows you to install LARGER HD's. I have a 20 GB Fujistsu on a MB which takes only 8.4 GB. It is easy to install, the HD comes with a floppy disk all instruction for installation included. I am sure you must keep to 5400 rpm as you need a new HD controller for the faster HD.

Good luck,

Alex
