I think that one of the problems in this debate is that one of the strongest reasons for opposition to abortion, especially in the early stage represented by RU486 and the morning-after concoctions, is that the availability of these early-term abortions would remove the threat of pregnancy as a restraint on sexual activity. I suspect that a fair number of "Pro-life" people are actually more pro-chastity than anything else, and are mostly interested in maintaining punishment by pregnancy as a restraint on sexual activity. Of course nobody wants to say this, which is why we see so much fuzzy logic applied to other arguments aimed at the same goal.

The boat is an 18 ft. catamaran, nothing in the yacht class, but a lot of fun for day sailing around the bay. The kids love it. A lot more fun than tired old debates. Unfortunately, today I'm stuck back in front of the computer, with a few minutes to kill while waiting for someone to answer an icq message....
