Dave this is the battle that the conservatives must wage. <<They have to dismiss this notion that everything the liberals have created is the "way the truth and the light". Right now the Republicans are in power and they have to bring in new ideas but at the same time they have to dismiss this notion that being against a liberal program equates to being against the intended beneficiaries of the program. Its our turn to try and improve the down trodden. And we will do it our way. Perhaps the liberals are afraid we will succeed.>> This is excellent! I think your last sentence really hits the nail on the head regarding much of their resistance. Success means that a whole segment of society that has been convinced they are dependent on the liberals for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, will be freed. Privatize Social Security and the mass of the electorate may start to think of business from an owners's perspective as opposed to an employee's. Scary thought when your modus operandi is to demonize business.
