"..in your judgement the key to any adoption of CDMA in Western Europe, prior to UMTS itself, is 1xevdv?.."

In my view, yes - 1xevdv with imt2000 certification.

"..will that mean that there will be an attempt to delay..."

By some parties - perhaps... But I suspect that standards must be judged on their merits - on their compliance with imt2000 requirements and specifications... Or the credibility of the entire process - of ITU's credibility - unravels... And I know that imt2000 compliance is fundamental to ongoing 1xevdv deliberations.

Also, GSMA 3GPP members MOT, NOK, CWTS (China) will have an interest in the final 1xevdv specification - so lines blur...

"..Will Latin American or Asian GSM operators be more receptive to the possibility of 1x or 1xevdo..."

I think Asia (aside from NTT) and LA are wide open. This is what makes me so excited about protracted wcdma delays. I believe possible advantages far outweigh liabilities... And I love Q's shift to an aggressive public relations posture... My views - Message 15397286 .
