Hi John,

As far as a CSCO takeover, it won't be before July 1. That's when the FASB is re-jiggering the GAAP regarding purchases yet again. FASB eliminated the pooling-of-interests accounting as of 12/31/00, much to the detriment of John Chambers acquisition strategy, but after July 1, he'll have a new tool to use, i.e. 'goodwill impairment' which should be able to be gamed quite advantageously:
