I will understand the software I've installed.
Here's a growing trend: "Bugs" that are caused by people installing or configuring software they don't fully understand. It's especially problematic with security software. Someone will install a firewall, and then be unable to use an Internet phone program because it can't get through the firewall. But really, it's doing just what you asked! Similar things happen when security or ad blocking software prevents some functions of a web page, which might for example cause you to be unable to use an e-commerce site. Or, "Internet accelerators" that cache web pages can cause you to view out-of-date or contradictory information. Whenever you're experiencing a problem with a web site and you really need that site to work, disable or uninstall all your browser add-ins to see if it makes a difference
