More likely, the actual numbers (of subscribers) that are being tallied now (by whom? I don't know.. ) are smaller than the numbers that the operators lied about as they were building out their networks and making optimistic projections. Forsooth, in this country? You betcha. If these characters are not above slamming consumers (moving subscribers from competitors' accounts to their own, by falsifying customers' approvals), then why should they be expected to be any more honest about the number of subscribers they have on their rolls? Some managers do bizarre things when they are being measured against stated objectives.

Hi Mike,

I'm going to have to bookmark every darn word I read from now on. <g> It was from a source I considered legitimate. But that hasn't prevented me from getting bogus facts in the past. I'll look for corroboration.
