I don't think they qualify as a tax-deductible investment expense any more...... .

It certainly seems like you were one of the many profiting from illegally obtained, internal FBI investigative information - prior to any (if at all) announcement of formal prosecution. That information, as we now know, was provided by former FBI agents who were subverted by the lure of $$$-BIG BUCKS-$$$ from Anthony Elgindy; aka: SI's Anthony@Pukerific. Whereas some blockhead blowhard like "..Da TwoothSqueaker.." would like to insinuate that someone who starts a stock discussion board (..where you were a major poster..) is consequently a "..promoter..", I would like to know *how much of the ill-gotten money you made on "...illegal AnthoPuke Shorts..."* have you voluntarily given back to the companies and/or investors you gleaned it from...???** Funny how the worm turns, aye...........
