FWIW there was a large buyer [short covering] of March 5 calls in HM on Friday... if you look at the open interest in the options on HM [leaps also] it's pretty amazing for a $5 stock. The writers are going to feel like dopes when the thing takes off IMO and want to stay on board.

AU is one of the biggest hedgers. it's not as big as ABX on a relative basis (i.e. compared to production and reserves) but has the biggest hedge position in absolute terms.
