Zoltan: Yes, nuclear proliferation accelerated greatly under Clinton. Everyone familiar with the area agrees on that. Clinton's sales of missile tech to China for campaign cash were widely credited with increased activity in both Pakistan and India.

Exactly so. The former administrations geopolitical ignorance in this area was breathtaking to observe. Or maybe it's better to say all the cashiesh made them impressively self-serving, to the regret of anyone with half a brain. After all, who but a fool wouldn't recognize that if you give nuclear program information to the Chinese the Indians would freak and, as a consequence, start building their own mutual assurances. And when the Indians freaked it of course was bound to set Pakistan all a twitter with their own "me too's," too. And so a regional variation on the old Cold War's MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) policy was ratcheted up a couple of notches.

Clinton's "policy" set it all in motion. Everyone else is left to clean up the mess. No surprise since this "I got the cash, f*ck the rest" was/is a hallmark characteristic of his leadership style.
