St. Louis just built two new stadiums in the 90's one for football and the other for hockey. Busch Stadium was completed in 1966. So not that old. The football stadium is also part of the convention center so the space can be used for other events. I have some misgivings about the projected economic benefits of professional sport teams. The Cardinals do bring in a lot of folks from out of town, so as long as the team attracts fans there is some merit. St. Louis does extract a fairly high ticket tax compared to other cities. (or so the Post Dispatch informs me)
