Ah, but it involved humour and sarcasm - even irony - and thus may have confused those who recognise neither... and annoyed those who recognise them but don't understand.

However, I think your later clarifications should have made the general message clear enough... otherwise, you'd be reduced to using very short words.

You are arguing with a person whose profile says that nosepicking is his occupation and beer and bourbon his hobby. You may want to consider a simpler message.
I think he thought blowhard was a sexual term and an affront to his manhood.
