Dave Markely: I looked into both ESignal coupled with Ensign several months ago. At that time, ESign was only charting 10 days of intraday data.

While the Ensign Software was very functional, it was not as user friendly as QCharts. I may be pressed to once again give them both a look if RavenQuote does not get ported and approved for ESignal soon...

Regards,
LG

Dave - Ensign is a good choice I think for anyone that wants more than basic charting. I guess if RavenQuote makes it through eSignal's quality assurance testing, there will be a bit of competition between the two platforms, but that's a good thing in the end for users. I tried Ensign out back in the dirty days when TradeStation 2000i was new and would crash when you looked at it sideways. Omega ended up cleaning up the stability issues through a series of Service Packs, and I didn't need or feel like making a switch, but from what I could see in Ensign, pretty much anything was possible.

And Howard and crew were about the most responsive charting vendor I've ever met too.

"Agree the esig charting app is primitive...basically a re-hash of their old Dos program from about 15 yrs ago."

What version of eSignal are you familiar with? The current version is comparable to QCharts, and most QCharts worksheets can be replicated fairly easily in eSignal. The interface is similar. I like some features better in eSignal: cutting and pasting in quote sheets, for example. The indicators are basically the same. ESignal has Donchian channels, as QCharts does. Does QCharts have CCI, which eSignal has? I don't recall.

ESignal is superior in some respects: data reliability, of course, service, and news. Some have found the options data to be much better in eSignal.

The main thing is consistent, reliable data, with no hassles over servers. ESignal just works all day, all the time.
