Ten, an Itanium server in a 1U rack surprises me also. Sounds like everybody wants to bring everything to the edge (of the Internet).

Here's another development article out of IDF, about Intel demoing "First InfiniBand Fabric". Going to be a lot of news this week. Now if someone could muzzle Joseph for a while.

Ten, I went back to your post and just noticed the second highlighted URL about the 870 chipset paper: "Enterprise Class Server Scalability and RAS Using the Intel® 870 Chipset"

From the (brief) description, it looks like it will help the OEMs designing with it the ability to achieve high scalability and RAS goals in their servers.
