Hardly a smoking gun?

Well, proves that JEDEC knew of Rambus IP. They knew about it and stole it thinking they could get away with it. Then after Dell, they tried to throw a royalty free blanket over the entire group knowing full well that they already stole a goldmine of patents. And now, all of a sudden, they don't know nothing about nobody?

I think JEDEC is the one that should be on trial here.

If JEDEC had knowledge of Rambus IP, and Rambus reasonable expectations regarding such IP, during the deliberations I don't see how they can support a defense that Rambus "led them on" or "tricked them" or "used deceit" (my paraphrasing).

I really wonder if what will come to light in all of this is that nobody was tricked, surprised or misled. Rambus had certain IP rights and was perfecting them. JEDEC really didn't want to go that direction if it could help it, but it ultimately couldn't. Nothing needed to be said or written down to provide Rambus with a powerful argument here.

Scumbria... "Apparently JEDEC dropped GTL because they did not want to use Rambus IP."

Like I said , "Does it really matter?" Instead of using Rambus IP in GTL, they resorted to stealing it for use in SDRAM. What's the difference? They stole the IP either way!
