Why do I have the feeling this is setting up to be a world record case of 'buy the rumor, sell the news...'

JRI,

>>>> Does anyone think the rally would have taken place without Angell's comments? I don't.... <<<<

Right at the TIME Angell made the comment, thats when the market started rallying, so I agree with you.

Prior to the Angell announcement, the NAZ/NDX was looking very dismal on FRIDAY, then it reversed right on the announcement from Angell. This is just an example of NEWs over-riding the technicals. It happens in both direction.

Now the question is whether the FEDs will cut this week or not. It they dont, I dont think the market will accept that too well. The way I look at it is that Angel's comment was a rumor that the market reacted to positively, but now requires confirmation.

If the FED's does cut the rates will the market continue to rally or become one of those "sell on the news senerios" - not sure yet.

The SOX did close down, which is a negative for the NAZ/NDX, but the NAZ NEW HIGHs/LOWs did improve quickly. There is some support from the NAZ NEW HIGHs/LOWs for the rally to continue, but the SOX needs to improve very soon to support the rally, otherwise it wont have much legs.
