I just recently reread 'Farenheit 451,' it is a fun one to read and count the number of devices that were "futuristic' at the time that Ray Bradbury wrote the book and are now reality. Full of human nature content...kinda scary.

Talk about being able to see the future clearly. Scott

the human nature i'm probably not going to like it.

Well it's JMO. Much of the book concerns amplifying human abilities. Optimist that he is, he never considers that some are ill and could use these enhancements for harm. Just believe he grasps the technology better than human nature. The book covers a range of possibilities. Whether you agree with his timeline (or not), he does provide a framework within which to "think about" the impact of technology. His view is far more disruptive than the typical linear extrapolations occurring from more pedestrian prognosticators. FWIW

Lots of culture floating around this watering hole.
I'm wafting around in it. Taking long, slow, deep breaths of culture.
Feels good.
I'm now listening to good Dylan tunes after playing some Dire Straits. Van Morrison is cued up as look to see if I have any science fiction books floating around...
Can almost see Rose in her boat as the whale submerges making some sort of sound from one of DH's cool links. I wonder what sound the whale would make for "Hey, I better go under quick or I might dent that floating piece of aluminum with the lady sitting on it..." or the sound for "I wonder what this fishhook would taste like..."
Probably something like "bleeeep-glick-ping-ping-bally-blooooooop-bloooooooop-click-click-wuzzle-snick-bleep-ping-pong-braaaappp".
At least that is what I'd say...
Actually I think I've uttered that phase once or twice before around closing time here at the NNBM Bar.
So I guess if the whale said it, Rosie would just have to lean over the edge of the boat and hand him a beer...
I'm not quite sure where I'm going with this silliness so let me just end it there...

I guess the point I'm trying to make is:
All these sights, sounds, and thoughts are giving me the whole virtual reality experience...
I like this place.

elf,

What a pleasant surprise to come home to...
I got the package you sent to me!!
I hooked up the Virtual Pilot flight yoke and the rudder pedals.
The steering works fine but I still have to tweek around the settings until I get the rudder pedals and throttle to work. I may have not selected the correct joystick setting.
I'll try it again as soon a I log off.
I just wanted to let you know they got here just fine.
Muchas grassyass.

I plan on trying it on the newest Simulator that I just got called Jet Fighter IV. I'm installing it now.

This weekend I flew all over the place with the Microsoft Sim. I landed a Boeing 777-300 perfectly for the first time.
I also bought a book that teaches the basics of flying a real plane...
(I think I got the bug... I drive ten miles out of my way when going into town just so I can pass by the small county airport and dream... Lots of Cessnas and Piper Cherokees...)

Thanks again for the cool set up you sent me.
It feels much more realistic than just using a joystick.

IOU1.
