re: Just totally ridiculous

Not at all. We are in a bear market, so you should expect all good news to be ignored, and all bad news to be repeated endlessly. This is the "Law of Conservation of Sentiment". The euphoria of 1999-2000 must be balanced by despair in 2001. And it ain't over yet. Another month or two of bad news from the semis, and everyone will be saying, "zero chance of an upturn in bookings until 2002". Right now, there is still a lot of hope for an upturn in bookings this summer. Also, there is a lot of hope for an intermeeting rate cut, when this is an event that is impossible to predict ahead of time. So, hope lingers on.
