The truth is many of these analysts would make a few right calls throughout their career then being promoted by the media to be the one who knows the future. gary

Kap, "JJ was the first analyst to call the end to the semi up-cycle at the time when INTC and others were hitting new all time highs almost daily" Calling the end to a trend or predicting a trend, up or down, is nothing special. You can flip a coin and have a 50% chance of being right. The significant news of the past year has not been the direction of the semi's but the degree ( magnitude ) by which it has fallen. I doubt that JJ had any notion of exactly where we were heading. In fact, it has not been all "semi cycle" related, but rather the whole of the economy ( witness Home Depot, GM etc. ), implying an element of luck in his prediction. SK
