BCherry -

Agree my drilling time might be actually high. Need to include time to move rig, set up,
waiting on cement, and occasional fishing.

At the peak in the boom, effectiveness really drops.

What occurs to me is that with only 1,600 or so drill rigs and about 25,000
wells each year, a staff of about 3 people could track about 40-60% of the wells,
and then use various forms of statistical analysis to approximate the rest of
the results, then use actual delivery information from pipelines etc. to fine tune the approximation.

Does Matt Simmons do some thing like this ?
I bet Enron and Duke have some way of getting a handle on the gas supply -
anyone know what their method is ?
