I think they have a genius of an idea.

the options are used for acquired companies only not for BRCM customers.

The idea is simple. If BRCM wants to buy a company for, say, $500 million. They pay the company $200 million in stock and pay their customers $300 million in options to buy, say, $600 million worth of products.

Thats better than paying the company owners $500 million worth of stock.
