Note that, while that scenario sucks for put holders, it is a short-seller's wet dream.

LOL, You can say that again.

If you're timing is decent [lucky?], buy-writes in the money or at the money have been damn good also as long as there's still hope of a recovery and call premiums are giant. But I feel like I'm doomed to get f*cked if I keep playing with fire.
