Placing Value on Enron

The $120 (give or take)price targets being tossed about for Enron (ENE:NYSE) are simply wrong.

Enron is a great company but does it deserve a 70-ish multiple when the rest of the group trades at a mere 20-30 times. Don't think so.

And, take the claim that Enron is more like an investment bank or finance shop. If you believe that and think it should trade among the elite like Goldman, Merrill and MSDW consider this. Average multiple in that group is about 16. Does Enron deserve a multiple 6-times those companies.

Again, nothing wrong with the business model, nothing wrong with execution, and nothing wrong with leadersip. What's wrong are the expectations.
