Making it harder will do the same thing as making trash harder to dispose of: it increases illegal dumping. Creating incentives makes people want to do it, creating punishments or added difficulty makes them avoid it.

Do you really think that the problem of children outside of marriage will be easier to manage than children inside marriage? Or, what if people just stop getting married all together (I'm inclined to agree with the X-kholt discussion of parenting contracts). Marriage is an antiquated system as many people try to practice it or as most religions define it.

Female subservience is not going to be a cornerstone of future marriage.
