Dear Scumbria:

Re: "WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President George W. Bush (news - web sites) does not believe it is in the nation's interest to eliminate the national debt over the next decade

dailynews.yahoo.com;

Finish reading the rest of the article, Scumbria. Because of all of the premiums and penalties necessary to do it sooner. Would you pay 50% more just to pay it a few years sooner? I don't! Pay for the debt as it comes due just like how I pay car loans, etc. The debt repayment is well known and can be scheduled.

Otherwise, paying a 50% premium and penalties are a humungous and totally unnecessary waste of money. If you want it done sooner, you go and spend your money to do it. I would rather that the debt be repaid as it comes due and return the rest of the surplus back to us hard working taxpayers.

Bill Clinton is the real slimeball. His department sold 100yr treasury bonds. That is how long normal repayment will be.

Pete

Interesting article in "US News and World Report" this week. Seems that Smirk's legacy of tax cuts in Texas has lead to a slight budget shortfall. Seems there is something like a $700 million shortfall for this year. Oops...

Of course, "US News and World Report" is a liberal rag that is trying to smear the Shrub, but there it is.
