Dear Scumbria:

It is what AG has recommended. You may not like it. Would you pay the $3 trillion in premiums and penalties required?

Now for the really hard questions. How can you stop the Democrats in Congress from skimming the debt repayment monies for their own causes? They will find a politically safe way to spend it.

If you can come up with a foolproof plan that can take any shot from Democrats in either house, it would also take any shot from the Republicans. It must not spend any money over that currently spent beyond CPI for any other program including defense and all entitlements. It cannot alter the spending within those limits (the distribution of spending is not relevant to the plan and may change to a different priority due to external forces). It must truly pay off the debt ASAP and then after the debt is paid, it must disappear without leaving anything behind.

If such a plan can be made (and IMHO that is impossible), I will support it. You will have a hard time convincing me that it satisfies the criteria above. Part of that convincing will be me setting up situations that will make it break. Some of those situations will not be pretty.
