pirate: Agree about Oracle's decision, but can't shake the
feeling that storage will be the last sector to be lined up against the wall, so I don't see it as buy 'n hold yet. Sold calls against my NTAP position upon buying it a couple of weeks ago at 38. If we have such a spending slowdown that even NTAP is taken down (rightly or wrongly, sentiment rules ST), that's when I'll buy without hedging against my position.

I agree with all the reasons NTAP shouldn't suffer that fate even if, say, EMC does, but I don't think it will go unscathed in a storage selloff. Thinking it will reminds me of similar thoughts voiced about SEBL and many others. I'm still waiting on SEBL and BEAS but getting close. I like investing in potential gorillas, so I value the Gorilla Game and the G&K thread w/o limiting myself to all their investment precepts. I care so much about valuation (as affected by market cycles as well as fundamentals) that I'll refrain from buying until I can get 'em cheaper. Lower and earlier is best but isn't an option when you learn about a company after it has run.

Much of what makes my and many others' perspective different from G&K threadsters is having read the GG too late to get in before the bubble. TA shows bubbles and relative value in retrospect, but I've learned to respect those lessons. Plus I like the chase too much not to try to buy 'em cheap. Kinda like my JDSU at 77. That "value" doesn't go with the rest of what I'm wearing right now. I've since committed to using stops, now that stocks again move in two directions--and how!

Thanks Down South and others for the good work bringing this company's attributes to the attention of readers.
