He should try ot be more subtle about this !!! His words are pointing at the truth of the matter: explain inflation away, have everyone lookin in the wrong direction, so the merry printers can go about there favourite task: Inflating the crap out of the money suplly.
The govt stands to be the benficiary of inflation so why should they care?

Allow me to paraphrase this little article for the sheep:

"Dog-gone it you Brits, we here at the U.S. Fed have a huge problem and you know it. Unless you off-shore guys allow your rates to fall, how the heck are we supposed to lower ours? That 2% point "rate differential" HAS to be maintained, or our buck and bonds are trashed. Now get with the program before we send a couple of carriers to the English Channel! We've got to drop rates NOW!"
