All the wooded areas are disappearing between DC and Purcellville. They're started to really strip the Great Falls forest around Georgetown Pike. Those new homes are probably well in excess of $ 1M.

You obviously should move to Calif. Land of cheap electricity and frozen property taxes.

Seriously. After a little simple conservation, my energy bill is unchanged from last year, courtesy of all-electric heating and that most excellent rate freeze. And my property taxes haven't changed significantly since 1993, while the house's value more than doubled, thanks to Prop 13.

(OK yeah yeah our power and highway infrastructure are collapsing.)
