ONLY if AMD makes their numbers. If AMD is short, INTC's shortfall will be attributed to continued lack of corporate and consumer spending (and rightfully so).

Since so many analysts seem to be championing AMD right now, if they miss their numbers I wouldn't be surprised to see lots of downgrades.

Pravin: The bigger problem is that Intel mistakenly quantified P4 unit sales in 2001 at 20 million. When they miss this number, they will be forced to admit that the P4 did not live up to expectations.

What makes you think Intel will give out numbers for individual cores? They've never done so before and I see no reason why they would start now.
