Any ideas about how to keep the custom favorite icons?

I find the same thing happening so I searched the net and am in the process of building an icon file folder.The ones that I've used so far are holding.

As far as the custom icons go you may email the sites and ask them to send you the icon in a file attachment.

I was experiencing the same thing a while back
and logos in the address bar:

I never got to the bottom of it but you and SI Admin (Bob) experienced the same thing
so at least I know I wasn't hallucinating. It doesn't happen at all for me any more. Don't
know what I did to make it start or stop.
