Hi webster, (Energy Policy OT)

"It's 325 pages of tidbits with no meat on 'em"

No meat? No meat? Shoot it's got his pitcher on the front page, ain't it?

Successful pest control always starts with a careful study of the varmint's staple diet.

Regards to all,

Aggie

Re National Energy Security Act

We need to do whatever we can to increase domestic production and maybe they need to sell it this way, but geez, such political hokum. First of all, how does reducing imports from 56% to 50% provide "energy security"? Doesn't sound like much, 56 to 50 by 2010, but I calculate that, given 2% annual demand increases, it would take close to a 40% increase in domestic production by 2010 to reach that goal. We have had a relentless decline in domestic production for the last 30 years, thru low and high prices, thru pro-oil and anti-oil administrations and congresses, and now we are going to have a 40% increase? I don't think they are even counting products imports in that 56%. Can D.C. pols even spell depletion? An honest answer to "what are the solutions to the energy problem?" is.....there ain't none, folks. Will we get that from Bush tonight? I doubt it.
