Capitulation is a bit like pornography and a few other things, it is hard to define but you know it when you see it. What we are seeing now is the slow drip, drip, drip of a bear market which is fraying people's nerves and slowly and painfully wringing out the excesses of the last several years and all those buy the dip folks.

The $VIX should be over 40 and volume should be huge to show real capitulation, and the one thing VERY FEW are talking about is that is occurs when people are not expecting it and when everyone is saying the sky is falling, not as in two weeks ago where even with all the selling people at the trading EXPo were asking JOHN Bollinger: what should I buy now (and thinking of tech stocks at that!)?
