good find. lots there to mull over. i read the section that says: "I used to see favicons, but now they've all disappeared. What Happened?" and tried their temp solution, but no luck.

sounds like it's all cookie related, when you read the "What are the security/privacy concerns related to favicon.ico files?" section.

but the favivons hung around even after i deleted cookies, so that doesn't make sense. coupled with the fact that they disappeared today when i did not delete cookies.

too intense. <g3> i'm taking gottfried's route and living with it.
