Chic:

Much appreciate the anecdotal commentary and keep it coming. That said, last year, IBM was my best profit producer (in puts) and this year, I'm just starting to book more (as of today's clearing of an IBM short position).

If you want to see where bad accounting can lead, just watch the about-to-begin soap opera known as Gateway. They are good, but Louis is great. Personally, while I know one shouldn't allow emotions to sneak into one's investment decisions, the garbage that IBM has dished out as quarterly reports over the last many quarters has nauseated me sufficiently that I will enjoy watching the market roast the fat boy's fanny (unless of course he escapes before things come to a head.

Inciodentally, I know plenty of good folks who work for that company and have a lot of respect for the engineering talent that works therein. I just hate the fact that the company has been led into the financial gutter by this "financial engineer". NG)

Best, Earlie
