I've seen this coming for a long time. I don't know why it is such a shock to the economists! Last summer I was talking to a girl at HD, and she told me they had to let about a quarter of their workers go. There wasn't enough business to justify all the employees. Ditto for the car dealers, and the chemical plants around the country. They lost business. From now on, maybe the forces that be, won't have to wait for all the economic numbers to tell them what everyone in the real world already knows. Call Sarah, the hair dresser, and ask her how much her business has been hurt this past year...she'll tell them.
