In the latest Forbes (hard copy), there is an article entitled "Conqueror in the Carnage: Most telecom startups are doomed. Clark McLeod will survive to own their assets."

It mentions two of Ciena's customers favorably - McLeod and XO. Predicts that both will be left standing to pick up the pieces of the current telecom financing debacle.

James,

It appears that Cisco is in the legacy SONET ADM market after all.

That market is now beginning to smell like burnt toast. In spite of Nortel's protests, Ciena is capturing market share with the CoreDirector at the expense of this legacy equipment.

Is Lucent in a death spiral or what?
