NYCBoy et al,

I see. Future results ARE guaranteed by past performance! To wit: you were right in the past, ergo you are right now.

Of course, even a broken clock is right twice a day. To wit: as the bulls were wrong before and you were right, you will be wrong in the future and they will be right.

I see the same hubris and certainty in the bears on this thread that the bulls used to exhibit, myself included. What does THAT tell you?

NYCBoy,

Sorry it took me so long to respond. I've actually been busy with work... Yes, I was wrong about the $35 mark on Cisco. But yes, the Nasdaq also had to drop to around 2000 for it to get below $35...

That being said, I would be more than happy to send you a case of beer... (Telecomguy, too). Just PM me to let me know where to send it.

I don't know how you can say CSCO will hit $12. I think all the bad news is already priced into the stock. The Nasdaq could possibly hit 1500, but why would you say that a 25% decline in the overall market would cause more than a 25% decline in one of the Naz's Bellweathers? Don't understand that logic.

20 years from now, when my kids start investing, they will have never heard of CSCO.

If I thought that you were serious about that, I'd probably be worried about your sanity. Even if CSCO did get into the single digits, your kids would know what it is, because it would have caused the most people in history to become millionaires, then paupers...

Good companies don't resort to accounting gimmerickery and are not made up of selfish buggers.

Oh really? First off, the word is gimmickery. Second, I'm not sure if THAT is even a word. Third, EVERY company is made up of selfish buggers. And fourth, the company is selling over $20 billion worth of product a year. How in the world can you say that it's not a 'good' company?

The business world, like everything else, is cyclical. Enjoy your time to gloat, sooner or later, the "hand will be on the other foot"...

Jay
