Ice, I heard that whole part of the speech clearly. What he said is that the CURRENT return on social security funds was less than 2% (annually). Meaning you could do better in passbook savings, pokemon cards, old lunch boxes....just about anything but Naz-Dung stocks! He wanted to form a task force of some sort to see how the return could be juiced. No specific mention in dumping it into stocks, t-bills, agency paper, Credit card backed securities, Congo coconut spreads or Turkish opium futures......(although if Wall Street gets ahold of it, I have no doubt that any/all of the above will be in play!)<G>

Fortunately, by the time the bill completes the "Dance of Legislation" in a year or three, no one will want to hear about stocks, much less put their social security ClownBux in 'em. Therefore, no politician will commit political suicide by pushing the issue.
