No, it's SPARC based -- 64 bit processing. There's a (coprocessor +/-) board available that has the guts of a PC if you need it; Sun has been selling such boards for years.

AP Corrects Sun Story

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - The Associated Press reported erroneously on Feb. 27 that a PCI card for the Sun Blade 100 workstation sells for $195. The price is $495.

The card allows users to run applications on both Microsoft's Windows and Sun's Solaris operating system.

The AP also reported that Sun holds more than a 60 percent market share in Unix (news - web sites)-based ``systems.'' The reference should have used the more precise term ``workstations,'' which doesn't include servers.
