L, the current market for 512 mb CF (and larger) clearly is not your average still photographer, if indeed it even relates to still photography. I think the market is for video, including full length movies. In addition to being able to download movies, I think that really large capacity is necessary to make the purchase or leasing of books and other kinds of documents a viable option.

Undoubtedly there will be certain photo applications, such as wedding photos made with professional cameras, where file sizes of 4 mb and larger would be normal. Wedding photos are mainly taken on conventional film, often using medium or large format cameras, such as the Hasselblad, to get very high resolution. When you look at the prices of that kind of equipment and the processing costs for large prints, you're talking really big bucks. A 512 mb flash card and studio grade digital camera are no more expensive from the initial investment point of view, and the print costs are much much less.

There is also a commercial advertising market, though I'm not sure the state of the art of digital cameras, except possibly for the Foveon, is good enough for this market.
