Eric- Regarding Dr. Jacobs comments to the Europeans stating that WCDMA deployment will be delayed..........

What Qualcomm is doing is pointing out is that European operators do have a choice.

1) they can wait for WCDMA to be ready, probably at least 2 to 3 years from now, or

2) they can deploy 1XeV in the new spectrum, with roaming capabilities, and start reciving income for the new spectrum a lot sooner. In addition, this choice is more spectrally efficient and provides higher data rates than WCDMA.

He is telling the European operators all is not lost, they do have options.

Qualcomms fall of late is because the investment community does not understand that Qualcomm has a significanlty better solution for 3G that is ready now and are trying to get more operators to use it. More income for eveeryone sooner.
