It would have continued in the "me-too" fashion that had relegated it to permanent minority status.

I do not like Torricelli (NJ) or Dell Miller (GA) Among the Repubs I like McCain, Powell, Bush Sr., Christie Whitman, used to like Henry Hyde until his hypocrisy was revealed, Hastert seems OK, Arlan Specter most times, and Dick Lugar... and BTW, Cheney's background is extreme right...
